Pregnancy= Take Your Clothes Off?

Recently I have been contemplating doing a maternity photo shoot as well as a belly cast. While I will be well into my 7th or 8th month before I do either it is never to early to get ideas or find the right photographer. One thing I have noticed with pregnancy in general is that nothing is TMI and showing naked parts of your body to the public is considered the norm. I recently came across a pregnancy forum that debated this topic. My favorite comment was,
I didn’t take pics with my boobs and butt showing before I was pregnant (when it was sorta sexy) so why would I do it now?
I couldn’t help giggle. This woman had my exact sentiments naked belly= yes…naked boobs= no! While I think a semi nude or completely nude photo shoot is great for a private collection I am shocked by the number of women who feel really comfortable just putting it all out there for ANYONE to see just because they are pregnant. Whether you have a bump or not…guess what you still naked! I am just not that brave and my husband would be in complete outrage. Maybe I am just too old fashioned, conservative or a prude.
Sure I understand that a pregnancy photo, naked or not, is not meant to be sexual at all but there are still a number of people who will see it as such. As beautiful as that moment is to you a nasty perverted old man could be sitting in his basement with that beautiful moment on his computer screen seeing it as a whole nother thing. I know I have just went on a rampage….lol.
So I said all this to say that I will probably do a family photo shoot. One that will be PG rated and will include both Chris and I. Afterall this is his pregnancy too and the poor thing wants to be part of everything. Anyway tell me what you think.

Fun post! I do agree with you. I don’t think kids will appreciate seeing their mother’s breasts on display when they are older. I wouldn’t! But showing a belly is beautiful. Imagine even wearing a beautiful white dress that could display the stomach? Make these pictures really beautiful and personal. You can make it breathtaking without bearing it all (or in my opinion, too much).
I wouldnt put nude anything on the internet, lol. I think that you can take beautiful, memorable pictures fully clothed. (With clothing that emphasises your belly of course, but clothes, still!
