A Rumble In the Jungle
Lately I have had a lot of rumbling and twitching in my belly. At first thought I assumed it was gas. Not that there is any shortage of that being pregnant…lol. However, this rumbling literally feels like there is thunder in my belly. There are times that I can hear it too! I knew that it was most likely peanut rolling on a river in his little sac, but I wasn’t sure.
I had felt a little kick once, but that was three weeks ago and I didn’t feel anything since that time. That was until the other day. I decided it was time to get off my big pregnant butt and start really working out. It’s not that I am trying to lose any weight. I just want to be able to snap back once the pregnancy is over. I have started doing my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred routine. I did this before my wedding (up until the moth before) to prepare for the day. I toned up very nicely too. Now some may say isn’t that a bit much for being pregnant. ABSOLUTELY NOT. Take a look at this 30 week preggo lady who just finished a marathon.

This is her progression through pregnancy while running marathons. The bottom pic is of her two day after giving birth! The baby weighed 8 lbs.

Needless to say I have to pull it together. My workouts have been great and I have been able to do them without any strain (other than being a little winded). Hopefully I can work myself back up to where I was a year ago.
I also think Peanut likes to workout too. The first time I did it I actually felt a kick on the outside of my belly. The whole day the rumbling and twitches were stronger than usual. I am hoping that all of this will make his heart even stronger. By the way here is a pic of me at 17.5 weeks with my workout gear. I don’t look like that lady, but at least I am not being my couch potato self anymore.

Melanie, You look fantastic, a little too excited about working out with that big smile (jk), but you look great.
I think exercise, even in small moderation, is a great addition to any pregnancy. I myself am pregnant and going through those early weeks of all day morning sickness but i find that on the mornings that i take the time to take my frumpy body down to the gym even if its just for 20 minutes, it holds the sickness at bay and i feel better at least until the afternoon.
Thanks Rachel! Yeah I try to do it in moderation aka when I’m not being lazy. But yes I was very happy to finally get off the couch. Let’s see if I can keep it up.
That woman is amazing! I tried to get into working out while preggo but it didn’t last passed 4mo lol so I admire you for doing something and keeping busy! Just found your blog while blog hopping and absolutely love the site! You have a new follower
I hope that you are able to keep it up, because I think that you’ll be high-fiving yourself afterwards when you see how quickly your body snaps back because you had a fit pregnancy! Good luck, and your bump is looking adorable!
