Happy Father’s Day Dad!

Dad,

I thought that instead of a card this year I would write to you on the blog since I know you read it. Also I wanted to publicly acknowledge all the wonderful things you have done for me as my father.

Throughout my life you have always been there for me…even when I didn’t appreciate it. No matter what time of day or night if I was sick, stuck somewhere or just in need you came to my rescue without regard for yourself. You brought me to church every week and made sure I did my devotionals. From Christian schools, summer camps, youth meetings and concerts you did your best to raise me in the admonition of the Lord. It was the foundation that built my relationship with Christ today. When I was rebellious you never let me get away with things. Although you would punish me you did your best to explain why and challenge me to change. No doubt I now appreciate you keeping me clear of many of the traps and downfalls that I have seen so many of my peers fall into. You sacrificed so may parts of your life so that I could have the best. Whether it was  money, time or your on pride no price was to big to pay. It was even your sacrifice that helped bring Chris and I together in marriage.

I am proud to have you as my father and I would never want another. You have not been perfect, but that’s what happens when you raise an imperfect daughter. Through all of our laughs, cries, hugs and arguments somehow we are still here together. Now as I become a mother I look forward to raising my children just like you did me.  Thank you or being there and never giving up.

I love you!
