Boxers and Basketball

(Chris is wearing basketball shorts…not boxers in these pics…lol)
As many of you know it is March and March means one thing to a college basketball lover: March Madness, the infamous college tournament. It actually should be called “March Caveness” because somehow it brings out the most basic caveman qualities in my husband. Here is a typical March Caveness Day:
- He comes home and immediately removes all of his clothes except his white tube socks and his boxers. When I ask him to put something on he will look at me like I stole something. Then he will proceed do a little dance to show just how rebellions he can be.
- He then goes to the kitchen and grabs some juice and chips. If he is really feeling himself he will demand I churn out some fresh guac or nachos.
- He then goes to sits about 4 feet away from the TV. He alternates between a chaise lounge and the computer desk chair, but never the couch. Why? Because it is to far for him to really see whats going on. If I sit in one of these, while it is empty, he will get whiny and tell me he needs that seat too.
- When a play is really good, he will get in the office chair and wheel himself up to the TV until he is about 2 feet away. If it is an exceptional play he will stand directly in front of it about a foot away give or take just in case he misses some micro movement from being 2 feet away.
- And of course he yells out during various times as well. His most common screams are,
Yeaahhhhh Baby!
This kid is SICK!
That was the DUUUUmbest play!
Mel! Mel! Come look at this dude he is bananas. (Like I know what I’m looking at.)
- His final step in the process is to eventually fall asleep before the game is over. But God forbid I turn the channel because he will wake up immediately and ask what’s the score. When I turn for him to see it he will not let me turn away until he has watched the play that’s happening, about to happen or the replay of what just happened.
Yes, when the boxers come on and college basketball is in the air my Hubby becomes his most basic self. And as annoying and at times hilarious it can be, I like that he feels so comfortable in our home. He works so hard and does so much for me…I guess he’s entitle to unwind sometimes…even if it means I have to stare at him in his boxers for the entire month of March.

Cute! lol
Football season is like this for me. We don’t do anything on a Sunday and if i want to do something i better hope that we are done by 1 because where ever we are/whatever we are doing, my husband is wrapping it up by 12:45 so that he doesn’t miss a kick off. One time he left me at the grocery store. Just decided he was going to walk home because the lines where too long. #LOSER :p
